Struck for the first International Monetary Conference, held in Paris in 1867. The initiative proposed at this assembly was the adoption of a single gold standard, decimalization and overall international coordination of various currencies. The dual denominations of 'DUCAT' and 'ONE HUNDRED PENCE' were an attempt to satisfy these initiatives.
