An error of the Trump Dollar has been certified, with the obverse missing the clad layer. Here's an excerpt - see the complete article online.

A new Trump dollar error gives collectors two sharply different views of the same coin. The portrait side shows exposed copper. Turn it over, however, and the Presidential Seal retains the dollar's usual golden color.
The difference comes from an entire missing outer metal layer. MintErrorNews reports that NGC authenticated the 1776–2026 dollar, graded it MS 65, and awarded its Advance Releases™ designation.
Mike Byers Inc. quotes a $25,000 asking price in its sale description. Meanwhile, the reported weight provides another striking detail: this dollar weighs 6.1 grams, nearly one-quarter less than a normal example.
Why This Trump Dollar Error Shows Two Colors
The dollar's golden appearance starts with its metal construction. Two outer layers of manganese brass surround a pure copper core. Together, those three layers form the material that normally becomes a finished coin.
On this example, the obverse lacks its outer layer. As a result, the exposed copper forms the visible surface beneath Trump's portrait. The reverse still carries its normal manganese-brass layer and golden color.
The weight reflects that missing metal. An intact Trump dollar weighs 8.1 grams. By comparison, the discovery weighs 6.1 grams, a difference of 2.0 grams, or approximately 24.7%.
That shortfall gives collectors more to consider than color alone. It also explains why the coin's appearance and strike require an understanding of its unusual manufacture.
