E-SYLUM ARCHIVE
The E-Sylum: Volume 6, Number 2, January 12, 2003, Article 5 CHAPMAN CORRESPONDENCE ARCHIVE AT ANS An intriguing item was published in the Winter 2002 issue of the American Numismatic Society magazine. Librarian Francis D. Campbell notes in his column on p21 that "Through a generous donation from the Estate of Mrs. Henrietta Chapman Judson, the Library has received a substantial quantity of the correspondence and other papers of the coin auction firm run by Henry and Samuel Hudson Chapman, which began operations in 1879." The article goes on to describe the career of the firm, but does not elaborate on the contents of the correspondence archive. Perhaps some E-Sylum reader will poke their nose in the archive sometime and let us know some of the highlights.
