NATURE PRINTING RETURNS, IN A FASHION

The Times of London reported on November 29 that
"A striking image of the veins of the human body
is the central theme of a proposed 20 Swiss franc
banknote which won first prize in a competition
organised by Switzerland's central bank to design
a series of notes.

Like euro notes, launched by the European Central
Bank in 2002, the designs by Manuel Krebs, a
Zurich-based artist, are already controversial —
but for different reasons. While the euro notes
were attacked by single currency enthusiasts and
opponents as a bland compromise, Krebs's images
have sparked controversy for their challenging
subjects such as Aids, death and a foetus."
