Numismatic News published an article by David Ganz on "Edmund C. Moy, 48, an ethnic Chinese-American who grew up in Waukesha, Wis., and was a childhood coin collector was nominated June 29 by President George W. Bush to become 38th director of the United States Mint.... He and his wife, Karen Moy, live in the Washington, D.C., area." The Denver Post reported July 12 on the Denver Mint angle: "The man designated by President Bush to head the U.S. Mint promised today he'd work aggressively to thwart sexual harassment of workers, a persistent problem at the Denver facility." "A vote on Moy's nomination has not been scheduled. He must first be approved by the banking committee before a full Senate vote."
