I'll bet that some of your knowledgeable readers have answered this question in the past, but I just can't find the definition of "Aber Nit" which appears on some varieties of
Bryan Money. It doesn't appear that Schornstein addresses this rather obscure term in his reference. Any ideas?
I came up empty on this myself - I don't believe we've discussed this before. "Aber Nit" translates from German as "But Not". Is it the 1896 equivalent of
#FakeNews, calling "Bryan's Idea of Coinage" stupid? Thoughts, anyone? -Editor
