The latest addition to the Newman Portal is the inventory of the Ruth Hill world paper money collection. Including thousands of notes, the handwritten inventory is divided into 43 parts, covering
nearly every country in the world, from Afghanistan to Zimbabwe.
Hill (1898-1995) was a St. Louis collector who lived close to Newman, and the two corresponded on various aspects of paper money. She served as president of the International Bank Note Society
from 1979-1981. The Hill collection was sold in 2014 by Heritage, who recognized her as the “Grand Old Lady of Paper Money Collecting in North America.”
