Another 1958-D Wheat Cent Find
Ken Berger writes:

"I think I can match Jim Haas' story about his finding a 1958-D wheat cent.

dug 1958-D Lincoln Cent obverse "Every spring & summer gophers invade my yard & dig up the dirt creating mounds of dirt & rocks. This summer, as I was leveling the mounds & removing the rocks, I found a 1958-D wheat cent. The real interesting part, however, is that 1958 was the year my house was built &, since I live in San Diego, the D mint mark is appropriate.. I guess it was a gift from the gopher. Unfortunately, the one I found was not shiny like Jim's."

The wildlife around our house leaves us presents all the time, but sadly, no coins. -Editor

Audio Books
A reader writes:

"As I age, my eyesight dims and although I would love to read many of the newer books, I cannot. Would it not be an idea while announcing new books to note whether they might also be available in audio format (and / or encourage authors, publishers etc. to present books in audio as well as print)? Might the E-Sylum go audio as well at some point?"

Audiobooks are growing in popularity, and I'll keep that in mind when communicating with authors and publishers going forward. But many numismatic books are self-published and we're lucky to get them in traditional electronic or hardcopy format. Books from mainstream publishers are more likely to have an audio format available. Both of the books announced last week for example, have an audiobook format available.

As for The E-Sylum, we have gotten requests for audio before, but it's not something we're able to provide. However, there may be AI-powered third-party tools that could generate an audio version of The E-Sylum. Are any of our readers aware of tools that might provide this capability? Thanks. -Editor

Numismatics in the Movies: Unabomber
Unabomber movie poster Brad Karoleff writes:

"In "Unabomber", Teddy receives a $5 silver certificate from his mother in the mail."

Thanks. "Unabomber" is a new Netflix film about Ted Kaczynski, the domestic terrorist known as the "Unabomber." -Editor
