The E-Sylum: Volume 8, Number 49, November 20, 2005, Article 16 HOW PANAMA CANAL WORKERS WERE PAID Regarding Dave Ginsberg's request for information on the circulation of gold coins, Henry Bergos writes: "I had a friend who was a railroad engineer in Panama DURING the digging of the canal. He told me that the "anglos" were paid in gold and the Panamanians were paid in silver at one-half the amount for the same work. I don't know when Dick Luce died but I estimate that he was born around 1883. I knew him around 1963."
